SAFEGUARDING
The Beautiful Cloud Group works with children and adults in our aim to teach and inspire people with music. This takes the form of individual and/or group music lessons across all instruments and across 7 days a week, online or at home.
The purpose of this policy statement is:
to protect children and young people who receive The Beautiful Cloud Group’s services from harm. This includes the children of adults who use our services
to provide staff and volunteers, as well as children and young people and their families, with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection
This policy applies to anyone working on behalf of The Beautiful Cloud Group, including Directors, paid staff, volunteers, sessional workers, agency staff and students. We also ask parents/guardians to familiarise themselves with this policy to understand their role.
Safeguarding Measures
Mentors work under the umbrella of The Beautiful Cloud Group and share common values to provide the best quality of mentorship in a safe and enjoyable manor
Mentors are only appointed after we have established DBS checks that prove satisfactory
All Mentors and staff are briefed regarding our data protection policies
Any communications, when an under 16 year old is involved, is done via the parent/guardian
Any communication numbers/addresses known by The Beautiful Cloud Group are only ever added to a Mentors personal address book if permission is granted from the parent/guardian
Rooms in which mentoring sessions are held should have open doors if it is safe to do so or a have glass window in the door so that lessons are visible from the outside
It is recommended that parents/guardians of children be in the vicinity of the room where online and in person lessons are taking place
Parents/guardians are welcome to sit in a lesson with a student, if preferred
Open communication between parent/guardian and the academy is encouraged to make sure the student is with the right mentor
Each mentor is self employed and is solely responsible for each student under their care and for the conduct and development of lessons
It is the responsibility of each teacher to have Personal and Public Liability insurance, The Beautiful Cloud Group will check this regularly
